Meet Teresa Morrow, Global Marketing and Communications Director, 3M

As part of a new continuing series, PR News is shining a spotlight on our community of communications professionals.

And so, today we shine the spotlight on Teresa Morrow, global marketing communications director at 3M, who attended our Social Media Summit in Huntington Beach, CA, in February 2018. Teresa has been in her position at 3M since May of 2017, following her role as vice president of external relations at the Minneapolis Foundation. She has a longstanding history of experience in strategic communications, employee engagement, corporate social responsibility, economic development, media relations and community outreach. Teresa lives in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

My typical work day

There is no such thing as a typical day! I oversee a team of global marketing/communication professionals who support multiple healthcare product lines – products which are sold in nearly 200 countries. The bulk of our work is developing and executing on marketing campaigns that help us connect with customers and hopefully drive sales.

One thing that always makes me happy at work

When I see a creative germ of an idea actually come to life and exceed all expectations (mine included!). I also love my four-pump, no fat chai tea.

The best thing I’ve read this year

Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. It’s a haunting tale of the power of familial love.

The brand (other than my own) whose work brings me joy

The Animal Humane Society, where they are committed to engaging the hearts, hands and minds of the community to help animals.

What I’m most proud of so far this year

The integration of three separate business lines and development of umbrella branding and messaging that really resonated with both employees and customers. By removing siloes, identifying common deliverables and building a story that engaged and motivated audiences, we’ve been able to build a true competitive differentiator.

Keep any eye out for more profiles as we continue to share the stories of the PR News community!
