Jeff Opperman is a writer. He currently develops speeches, op-eds, blog items and other communication materials as the Director of Executive Communication at Pace University.  He is also the creator and instructor of Writing for Results – a one-day writing seminar that helps professionals become more effective communicators.

Prior to joining Pace University Jeff was the director of internal and executive communications at LexisNexis. His speeches, video scripts and written communication pieces helped spread the rule of law and fight human trafficking throughout the world. While at LexisNexis he also published his first book – A Family’s Heartbreak: A Parent’s Introduction to Parental Alienation. The book continues to help countless parents and extended family members cope with the heartbreaking destruction of normal, healthy parent/child relationships.

During his career Jeff has helped firms in a variety of industries – consulting, transportation, oil and gas, power generation, legal and financial services -- achieve their goals through clear, concise messaging and effective written communication. Ask him about the best writing training he ever received, however, and he’ll tell you it was writing radio news and sports while in college. That experience is the basis of his writing seminar and today’s presentation.
