Say What?

This week we received a note from a woman "cordially" inviting us to print her already-written column in PR NEWS. The topic? How she overcame her fear of spiders. "Of
course!" we said. In fact, we invited her to fill our next several issues so we could take some time off to hit Euro-Disney and the world's largest ball of twine in Cawker City,
Kan. Sarcasm aside, journalists don't often print random, unsolicited columns (the Unabomber notwithstanding. And now that guy's in maximum-security lockup.) Although we
appreciate the thought, might we suggest that it's usually better to pitch a column idea before you bother writing it? One size usually won't fit all.
