Who Needs Oprah?

Since the demise of Oprah's book club - after the reigning queen of daytime announced there weren't enough inspirational books to fuel her club - copycat clubs have been
springing up, including one planned for the "Today" show (PRN, April 15) and one in USA Today. But Kelly Ripa's club, "Reading with Ripa," is making big news after propelling
Cosmopolitan Editor Kate White's book from 7,000th on Amazon's book list to No. 1 in hours. Ripa plans to cover "the kind of book everyone reads but doesn't want to talk about,"
"Live" producer Michael Gelman told USA Today. So send those trashy novel pitches her way.
