Top Women in PR 2014: Sabrina Horn

Sabrina Horn, President, CEO, Founder, Horn Group Inc.

Sabrina Horn started Horn Group with the vision to build an agency that would break new ground in technology markets, employment practices and client services. Twenty-three years later, Sabrina has grown the agency from startup to leading independent firm — a testament to her leadership, insight and work ethic. Sabrina consistently takes proactive steps to push the definition of what a successful agency looks like. In 2003, years before PR firms were thinking digital, Sabrina launched Horn Group Interactive Design to specialize in all things design and development. With Sabrina’s guidance, Horn Group established itself as a leader in this ever-evolving field.

Sabrina served as executive counsel, campaign development and team strategy advisor on a campaign for the Alliance for Downtown New York. The project was a completely integrated PR engagement, challenged with reinvigorating the downtrodden image of lower Manhattan. The effort included coming up with a name for the initiative and all the branding around it, an exclusive story in The Wall Street Journal, a massive event, the designing and building of their new website and the orchestration of their social media presence. Leading up to the launch event, Alliance for Downtown New York and the Horn Group worked closely with Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office to draft a portion of his speech on New York City’s post-9/11 renewal, announcing the campaign on a national platform. The agency’s efforts generated over 15 feature articles. Over 300 guests attended the launch celebration in Lower Manhattan’s historic Woolworth building joining the initiative’s leadership counsel and 25 reporters. A year later there are tangible changes that point to the success of the campaign. According to the most recent quarterly report by the Downtown Alliance, 2014 has been the best year for the district's commercial real estate market in 13 years.
