The Bear Strikes Books

The Boston Globe is combining its Focus and Books sections due to declining ad revenues. A message published in the May 20 issue stated that there would be some loss of content
in both sections. The Globe will continue to publish reviews, however, and the editors promise the new combo will allow for a larger "ideas" section which they will launch "when a
more robust economy brings us better resources." The Globe also is launching a new Education section, which replaces its Learning section. Laura Pappano will continue to
contribute her "Chalkboard" column, and Patrick Healy will offer "Campus Insider," a new column on higher education.
