  • Earle Palmer Brown (Philadelphia) nabbed by American Isuzu Motors, Inc. to launch the next retail promotions campaign, "Be #1 with Isuzu," targeting its sales staff. Top salespeople will win all expenses paid trips to Fighter Pilots USA bases.

  • E.B. Lane & Associates (Phoenix) retained by Mexican Hotels Corporation (Houston) to plan and manage advertising and PR efforts for the U.S. and Canadian markets of the Krystal Hotels chain.

  • Epoch 5 Marketing (Huntington, N.Y.) retained by Franklin Avenue Plaza office center (Garden City, N.Y.) for PR, community relations, crisis management and marketing. FAP is owned and operated by real estate company The Shorenstein Co.
  • Investor Communications Company (Rockville, Md.) selected by Unity First Acquisition Corp. (New York) to provide investor relations services. Unity First has entered into a definitive merger agreement with server-based connectivity software company, GraphOn Corp. (Campbell, Calif.).

  • Jeffrey Group (Miami) plucked by Busch Entertainment Corporation to manage PR throughout Latin America to provide travel professionals, media and consumers with ongoing information about new attractions and shows at the company's parks, including SeaWorld and Busch Gardens.

  • Nuffer, Smith, Tucker (San Diego) selected to assist GTE Wireless (San Diego) with customer satisfaction campaign and PR; Consumer Networks, Inc. (Mission Viejo) with PR and acquisition of grocery brands; and Signature Funding (San Diego) with PR activities.

  • Schenkein/Sherman Public Relations (Denver) retained by Central Colorado Library System to create an advocacy campaign and handle community and media relations; CompleTel (Denver) for strategic marketing campaign and media relations; and J & H Marsh & McLennan (Denver) for strategic counsel and local media relations.
  • The Reeves Agency (Baltimore) named agency of record by The Mid-Atlantic Development Group (Baltimore), operators of Lee Myles Transmissions centers. The firm will provide creative strategy, media planning, market research, direct mail and PR.

  • DeLaunay/Phillips, Inc. (Seattle) hired by Absolute Software (Kirkland, Wash.) as PR agency of record for marcom and public affairs services. Absolute created CompuTrac, the patented computer tracking system which locates and assists with the recovery of lost or stolen PCs.
  • MetaCreations (Santa Barbara, Calif.) selects GCI Group (New York) to represent corporate and product PR in North America. MetaCreations develops and markets 2D and 3D visualization software.
