Say What?

There's not much worse for reporters than receiving a press release that has nothing even remotely to do with their publication...unless it's receiving that same release 11
times. Actio Corp. sent an "Urgent" email to the editors of Aviation Maintenance magazine, announcing that "Executive VP and Co-Founder, Kal Kawar will present web based
MSDS Chemical Management studies to the American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition in Orlando, Florida, May 20-25, 2000."

First of all, we doubt even the editors of a properly targeted publication would much care. Unless Bill Gates is offering piggyback rides to journalists, a reporter isn't going
to change travel plans based on a particular speaker. Even if the journalist is interested in previewing the presentation, one email typically does the trick. We're guessing
someone misunderstood the concept of persistence.
