Although Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reports often lack in specifics (see Pulse, July 13), the jockeying to produce said reports is likely to intensify
following results of a survey last week that showed a growing number of the largest publicly traded companies are issuing more CSR details. The Social Investment Research Analysts
Network (SIRAN) queried companies listed on the S&P 100 Index about their CSR reporting. Here are two key findings:

  • Nearly 40% of the S&P Index now issue annual CSR reports.
  • Nearly a quarter of the S&P Index say they base their CSR reports on the Global Reporting Initiative's (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.
