Advice to Avid employees: Become more obsessed with customer satisfaction.

A career mistake (misstep) I wish I never made, but admittedly learned from: Prior to Avid, I made a decision to join a friend and former co-worker at a videoconferencing company. One month later he resigned. The company was going through major and traumatic changes. I lasted only four months and I was thrilled to join Avid in 1997 to manage corporate PR, employee communications, and corporate giving initiatives. Look more before you leap, especially as your career advances.

The most important NAB event/announcement for our company: Of Avid's many announcements this week at NAB in Las Vegas, two will help grow top-line revenue and continue our industry leadership: the new Avid Unity is a family of shared storage and distributed computing productions that will enable true collaborative digital media creation. Avid's 24P technology enables multi-format delivery including HDTV from a single source of film and television content.
