PR Gives Back to D.C. Community

Want to use your communications skills to help your community? The American Red Cross and the National Capital Chapter of PRSA are preparing a communications response team for
the D.C. area. The Red Cross will conduct a three-hour training program for 20 communicators in the area on Tuesday, March 12. The team will handle communications issues in the
event of a natural disaster, terrorist attack or community crisis. This program allows communicators to participate as a Red Cross volunteer for either two hours (writing and
pitching press releases throughout the year), two days (serving as a spokesperson during a disaster), two weeks (traveling to disaster sites to provide PR support for large-scale
disaster relief) or two times (providing expertise as a member of the Red Cross PR planning committee). For more information or to register, contact Kami Watson, [email protected]. To register, send her your name, title, company, address, phone, fax and email address.
