European chemical companies rank internal communications and community relations programs highest among their PR priorities, according to research conducted by Edelman PR
Worldwide. The agency's Reputation Management European Benchmark Study (conducted in partnership with University of Barcelona) surveyed 100 of Europe's largest chemical and life
sciences companies. On average, respondents said that 15% of their external relations budgets were allocated toward community relations, with 13% devoted to internal
communications and another 13% earmarked for media relations. Advertising claimed 32% of the average communications budget. (Edelman, 212/704-4420)
