We aren't sure if it was faith in the government or faith in a higher power that prompted a recent Y2K endorsement made by U.S. Senator Robert F. Bennett. Speaking at the National Press Club, Bennett, who chairs the Senate Special Committee on Y2K, said that given the most recent State Department assessments, he'd be willing to fly on an airplane on Jan. 1, 2000 "if it was in the United States." Whatever the motive, Bennett's comment made for good PR for the airline industries. Coffee, tea or champagne?
