Six years ago, the Main Floor started out as a weekend fashion and beauty show, dedicated to aiding working women who didn't have time to get this information during the week. Now the focus of the syndicated show, produced by Miami-based Alton Entertainment, has broadened to include health, nutrition and fitness advice. Advice for women coping with depression relates to Main Floor's audience as much as Milan's latest runway fashions. The show airs on Saturdays and Sundays in various cities and is hosted by Nancy Stafford.

Contact: Pitch story ideas to Wallenstein by fax at 305/534-3940 or mail (see address above).

What to Pitch: Content producers, including Executive Producer Larry Wallenstein and Alton Entertainment President Michael Young, are looking for stories that appeal to working women ages 18 to 54, including fitness advice, expert research on psychological topics and events happening in the beauty and fashion world.

The show airs weekly so there's no lengthy lead time.

Young says content producers know all about product launches, so there's little need to pitch those.

"The show gives instruction in goods and services," Young says.

Celebrity style and decor are also pitchable new features on the show.

Comments: The show has a research team dedicated to finding out the latest and the greatest in the areas of fashion, style and beauty. Yet, Young says, "it's not easy to get the PR that you want," so they're definitely looking for pitches on what's hip. The Web site enhances the show's content by providing a look at fashions seen at shows worldwide and advice from experts about topics such as enhancing girls' self esteem.

There's no solidified gift policy, but since the show's staff members keep up-to-date on product launches, it would be wise to check before sending a bunch of tchochkes.
