Employees Cite Hesitancy In Reporting Business Violations

A focus on internal communications and employee relations has been the rage of late, but a recent survey points to some failures here. You may not be able to completely control this internal communication because other departments such as human resources are involved, but the survey reveals a trend you'd best seek to stem.

Walker Information, an Indianapolis-based firm that measures and manages stakeholder relationships, reports that only 37 percent of employees who are aware of ethical or legal violations at their companies feel comfortable reporting them.

These results were culled from about 2,000 U.S.-based employees who took part in the Business Integrity Assessment. (Walker, 317/843-3939)

Biz Use of Net Soars

If your company has been slow to adapt to technology and the Internet as a day-to-day business tool, here's some more market research you can take to the powers that be.

A study by The Bohle Co., a Los Angeles-based high-tech PR firm, provides more evidence that business use of the Internet is growing. The survey of 950 Counselors Academy members revealed that 95 percent use E-mail and 82 percent have Internet access. (The Bohle Co., 310/785-0515)
