IR Classes Announced

If you feel left out of the back-to-school frenzy, consider these programs.

The National Investor Relations Institute/New York is offering three continuing ed courses for IR professionals this fall, in partnership with two local universities. Mary Beth Kissane, a senior VP
with Abernathy & MacGregor Group, leads a course on issues in corporate disclosure. The class runs for 10 Wednesdays, starting Sept. 27. Ed Nebb, a principal of BSMG Worldwide, and his wife June
Filingeri, president of Comm-Partner, offer an eight-session financial relations/IR course, also on Wednesdays, starting Sept. 27. These two courses are being held at NYU's midtown campus; registration

The third New York class is an introduction to financial PR, with Kelly Leung, director of the IR division at Gavin Anderson & Co. The class is meeting at LIU for 14 Wednesdays, beginning Sept. 13.

Meanwhile, on the Left Coast, UCLA is offering a seminar in "E-Journalism 101" for people who want to write for Internet news outlets and publicists who want to pitch them. It's a one-day program,
