HOW ONE CNN: EXEC USES THE INTERNET

Gail Chalef, executive producer at CNN International, goes online at least twice a day to research stories with an international angle or to search for potential guests (she books about 20 a week). Regular cyber stops include the Financial Times and the Dow China Morning Post, both sites that don't have the typical news she finds in U.S. newspapers.

"It's great for the quirky stuff," Chalef added. Once she used the Net, for example, to locate a Godzilla fan club.

But Chalef is also one of those journalists who knows that just because something's online, it doesn't mean it's correct. "It took me a long time to start using the Internet - I frankly don't trust anything that's online," she said. "A lot of times you just don't know the origin so you've got to check it out."
