Study says CEO Succession Biggest Headache for Board Members…

That's according to the 2003-2004 National Association of
Corporate Directors Public Company Governance Survey. About 595
executives, most of them "outside" directors, responded to the
comprehensive study. With a lot of the buzz on "corporate reform"
centered on creating boards that are more accountable, we thought
the following chart would be of some use. While 9.5% reported their
boards are performing below acceptable levels (in terms of CEO
succession) most directors report that their boards are in the
mid-range in taking care that they have someone in the CEO's
on-deck circle:
