Sanjay Who? New Job Description for Deposed CEO…

It may be a model for companies who don't want any lingering whiff of scandal around after the executive in question has been put out to pasture. The Wall Street Journal
reported May 4 that Sanjay Kumar, who recently stepped down as CEO of Computer Associates amid federal investigations into the company's accounting practices, now appears to have
a much more limited role than was indicated last month after he got the shove. At the time, Kumar was given the title of chief software architect and said to be very much involved
in the company's products and technology.

But a CA spokesman told the Journal that Kumar has "no operational or managerial" responsibility, oversees no one and is divorced from the company's main development
hierarchy. The move by CA to strip Kumar of his power may not stem the flow of bad ink about the computer giant, but the "out of sight/out of mind" sentiment behind the effort
can't be underestimated from a PR perspective.
