PR Trouble Brews For Healthcare Sites

Healthcare sites recently got caught with their hands in the privacy cookie jar, reports The California Healthcare Foundation. The organization found that health Web sites
frequently collect personal information from consumers without their knowledge and sometimes pass it along to third parties. Consumer attitudes are already iffy in this area.
Seventy-five percent of the consumers responding to the Foundation's survey said they were concerned about the privacy health information. Making matters worse, respondents said
privacy policies (usually intended to calm consumer fears) are often inadequate. (estats.com.)
