Why People Dislike Drug Companies

An independent survey recently conducted by G&S Research polled 376 pharmaceutical sales representatives about public perception of drug companies. The survey found

85% of the sales reps thought public opinion of the drug companies declined during the past year, while 5% insisted it improved and 11% saw no change. But what accounts for the

negative opinions? The majority of feedback from the sales reps ran along the lines of these comments including "too much bad press and litigation," "misunderstanding of how

pharmaceuticals are discovered, used and marketed" and the all-encompassing "poor media representation of drug pricing, a glorification of generics with no investigation into

generic problems, and the portrayal of drug companies as hawks."
