Investor Confidence Slides

Investor relations pros are facing a bearish audience these days as U.S. investor confidence in the economy sinks even lower. According to the Paine Webber Gallup Index of
Investor Optimism, which polled 1,000 investors in June, overall optimism dropped nine points in June, to its lowest level in four years. Investor confidence in the economy is
also low, in the 15 to 21 range - compared to last January when it spiked to 75. More than eight in 10 investors surveyed indicated that the energy crisis played a major factor
