Ditch the Diet

Don't call YM with pitches based on the d-word anymore. Dieting has become taboo at the teen-targeted pub, whose readers will now be seeing a lot more plus-size models and a
lot less information on weight loss. The pub recently conducted a survey that found that 84 percent of teen girls are envious of other girls with "good bodies," and the majority
think about their body image "most or all of the time." Editors decided the teen obsession with better bodies and the prevalance of eating disorders demanded less editorial
attention to dieting and more to overall self esteem. The pub will no longer run material on diets and is searching the modeling agencies for gorgeous gals who sport size 14+.
