Digital Watch: Search and E-Mail Still Reign Online

If you're looking for tried and true ways to reach an audience, new data on Web usage shows that e-mail and robust search engine optimization can't be beat. An August, 2011-updated Pew Research tracking survey shows the power of search and e-mail, as these two behaviors have consistently ranked as the most popular online, even as new social platforms, broadband and mobile devices continue to transform the way Americans use the Internet and Web. As early as 2002, more than eight in 10 online adults were using search engines.
