Communications Rises In CEOs’ Priorities

Canadian CEOs devote half of their time (49%) to public relations and communications, to both internal and external audiences, a new study finds. Almost all of the CEOs
interviewed (94%) feel that PR today is a strategic management function that contributes to the success of their companies. The study was conducted by Angus Reid on behalf of
National Public Relations, Inc., the Canadian partner of Burson-Marsteller.

"I would tend to think it would be the same in the U.S.," says Luc Beauregard, chairman and CEO of National. "We see this in our everyday practice... Every decision they make
has to take into account the effect on the general public."
