All the News That’s Fit for Kids

Youthline U.S.A. adds a supplementary magazine to its newspaper next month, which promises to deliver the news with words and concepts digestible to 8- to 13-year-olds. The magazine will delve more deeply into the subject matter behind the headline news, broaching topics like technology, politics, health and the environment.

"With the new magazine, we'll be able to give kids a lot more variability on big topics," says Editor-in-Chief Susan Gertler.

The magazine is presented as a news resource, but also as a fun learning experience. Puzzles and stock market games round out the content. Product pitches are also welcome. Gertler prefers email queries to [email protected].

Lead time for the 115,000-circulation magazine is one to three months. The magazine will be distributed in the first newspaper of every month. (www.youthline-usa.com)
