PR NEWS is, of course, a wildly influential publication. Nevertheless, we were caught off guard when a 16-year-old girl emailed us with a request to help her get "meet and greet" passes for an
upcoming Hanson concert. As an incentive, she offered to "write something up, and add pictures" in exchange for the passes.

One of our editors called her and explained that was not the sort of thing we typically write about. Out of curiosity, we asked how she heard about us and why she thought our publication would be able
to help her. Turns out her mother, a Ford Motor Co. employee, found our email address. Her pitch rationale: "I'm taking chances and asking anybody." That was a blow to our collective egos.

But wait - there's more. After explaining to our young go-getter that we couldn't help her, she emailed a thank you the very next day, all the while adjusting her pitching approach. This time she
specified that she was looking for sponsors to help raise money for the local leukemia center...in exchange for the passes to the Hanson show.

We still can't help her, but her persistence is admirable.
