2012 PR People Awards: PR Team Leader of the Year

Winner: Matt Motley

Senior Vice President, Weber Shandwick

Matt Motley’s superior relationships with clients led to the development and execution of several innovative campaigns in 2011. Under Motley’s leadership, RadioShack's Trade & Save program, which invited consumers to trade in their used or unwanted technology, generated more than 123 million impressions, exceeding goals by 80%. Motley’s work with RadioShack wasn’t finished. For the Spend the Holidays with RadioShack campaign, Motley’s team secured major media placements, including the Ellen DeGeneres Show, the Today show and the Inc.com Tech Gift Guide.

For ExxonMobil’s campaign with PGA Tour star Phil Mickelson, Motley and his team raised the profile of the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy. Targeting major media outlets and influential science and educational blogs, results included seven national media placements and an estimated audience of nearly 15.5 million.

A consummate team motivator, Motley leads by example and makes certain that his team is recognized for its successes—the marks of an impeccable leader indeed.
