Obama Gets on Snapchat With a Fresh Take on Content

Barack Obama is back on Snapchat. While the president still doesn’t have his own account, Obama will make an appearance on the “Good Luck America” Snapchat story, according to The New York Times.

Located over in the Discover tab, “Good Luck America” is hosted by Snapchat’s head of news Peter Hambry. Covering the election season since the primaries, Hambry takes viewers behind the scenes of the political process in a way that feels natural on the platform.

Communicators who haven’t seen “Good Luck America” should tune in for a unique take on creating content on Snapchat. The story pairs the playful spontaneity of Snapchat with educational content about the American democratic process and the election—and it works.

Available for 48 hours starting at 6 a.m. on Nov. 1, Hillary Clinton’s campaign hopes that Obama’s endorsement on Snapchat will help convince disengaged millennial audiences to vote for her. These same young voters galvanized Obama during his campaign in 2008 and again in 2012. But they're not flocking to the Democratic candidate like they did Obama, which has some strategists worried.

The Times reports that this installment will provide a behind-the-scenes look into Obama's campaign efforts for Hillary Clinton, including footage of endorsements of the candidate and a ride in the presidential motorcade.

Here's a look at a previous episode of "Good Luck America" about Bernie Sanders.
