Still a Long Way to Go

A benchmark study launched by the N.Y.-based nonprofit Catalyst reveals that women represent only 12% of corporate officers at Canada's 560 largest corporations - only 690 of
5,746 jobs. Further up the ranks, the picture is grimmer, with women filling only 3.4 percent of what Catalyst refers to as "clout positions," such as CEO, COO or executive VP.
"It's very hard when you are faced with [this] measurement to believe that women's advancement is a 'been there, done that' issue," Catalyst President Sheila Wellington told
The Globe and Mail.
