Ketchum Elevates Deanne Yamamoto to Global Brand Marketing Practice Role

March 21, 2007 | 12:10 pm

LOS ANGELES, March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Ketchum, a leading global public relations firm, announced today the promotion of Deanne Yamamoto from senior vice president, associate director, Ketchum West, to associate director, Ketchum North America, Global Brand Marketing Practice.

"Ketchum has always been committed to delivering world-class initiatives -- like Women 25 to 54 -- for our clients, and Deanne's passion and expertise in the women's and, more specifically, mom's market will be a key element in building out new ventures for our Global Brand Practice," said Kelley Skoloda, partner and director, Global Brand Marketing Practice, Ketchum. "In this new role, she will continue to raise the bar for Ketchum's strategic, creative and results-oriented programs."

Yamamoto has been part of the Ketchum network for almost a decade, having started her tenure in the New York office and then eventually moving west to Los Angeles. In addition to her strong knowledge and experience in the youth marketing industry, Yamamoto's expertise also lies in creating innovative and integrated media, public relations and marketing programs for new and established brands, with a focus on women 25 to 54.

In her new role, Yamamoto will help evolve and enrich the agency's Women 25 to 54 initiative, as well as assist with knowledge sharing, new business and training.

Yamamoto has provided high-impact corporate counsel and created award-winning programs for category-leading Ketchum clients in the toy, food, packaged goods, hospitality and telecommunications industries. She is also integrally involved in managing training, new business and visibility programs for Ketchum West.

Prior to joining Ketchum, Yamamoto was a vice president for GolinHarris International's consumer practice, where she managed a range of clients, including Sprint PCS, the Tournament of Roses, the California Avocado Commission and Baskin-Robbins. She also specialized in the travel and hospitality arena, forging long-term relationships with Southwest Airlines, Miraval Resort and Spa, Air New Zealand, Crystal Cruises, and the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board.

Yamamoto began her career in the nonprofit sector at the Los Angeles Education Partnership, where she helped motivate and retain teachers from the Los Angeles Unified School District. Shortly thereafter, she moved into public relations on the entertainment side at Rogers & Cowan.

A graduate of the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in communications, Yamamoto is deeply involved in local community and grade school education programs.
