Lavasoft Begins Public Beta Test of Ad-Aware 2007

NEW YORK, March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Anti-spyware pioneer Lavasoft today announced the public beta release for its latest anti-spyware software Ad-Aware 2007 Pro (www.lavasoft.com). The new version, referred to as Ad-Aware 2007 Beta for the public beta, offers a fully redesigned engine resulting in increased scanning speed and efficient use of computer resources, a new graphical user interface (GUI) and advanced Code Sequence Identity technology to detect deeply hidden and emerging malware.

According to Lavasoft CEO Ann-Christine Akerlund, "Hundreds of millions of users around the world are anxiously awaiting Ad-Aware 2007 for its enhanced security, privacy protection and detection of increasingly sophisticated and costly security threats that face businesses and consumers alike."

    Highlights of the Ad-Aware 2007 Beta include:

     *  Fully redesigned engine - provides optimal productivity with fast
        scans and top resource efficiency.
     *  Advanced Code Sequence Identity technology - results in better
        detection of deeply imbedded and emerging malware.
     *  Enhanced Detection Database - protects Ad-Aware 2007 users from more
        malware, with incremental and automatic updates resulting in fast
        download times.
     *  New graphical user interface (GUI) - easy to navigate for beginners
        while maintaining advanced options for experienced users and
        businesses.
     *  Automatic scans and Web updates - the all-new scheduler allows users
        to set a personalized schedule for automatic scans and definition file
        updates.
     *  Ad-Watch TrackSweep - this new feature erases tracks left while
        surfing the Internet on IE, Firefox and Opera, in one easy click of a
        button.
     *  Hosts File Editor - allows users to add, delete or make changes to the
        Hosts File to create Web navigational shortcuts and block specific
        sites.
     *  Multiple Browser Support - Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
     *  System Restore Point - provides a system restore point, particularly
        valuable for computer users who may have deleted a file in error
        during cleanup of their system.

Ad-Aware 2007 Plus and Ad-Aware 2007 Free versions will be launched with the official release of Ad-Aware 2007 Pro in the second quarter of 2007. Lavasoft expects all Ad-Aware 2007 products to be Certified for Windows Vista(TM) when released.

Ad-Aware 2007 Enterprise, designed for multi-license corporate use (networks), is planned for release later in 2007.
