Chicago Magazine Uncovers the Best of Chicago Dining

October 8, 2007 | 5:00 am

CHICAGO, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicago magazine, the largest city monthly in the country, journeyed across Chicagoland to bring readers the best of the Windy City's dining offerings. The November issue, which hits newsstands this week, reveals the 124 best dishes on this world-class restaurant scene.

"There is incredible variety and diversity on the Chicago dining scene," said Penny Pollack, Chicago magazine dining editor. "Our reviewers tasted thousands of dishes and compiled a list of the very best."

The feature provides Chicagoans with brief descriptions of the city's most delectable dishes and where to find them. The highlighted items range from the unique and offbeat grilled baby octopus and fingerling potato salad at Aria to more traditional items like juicy fried chicken at Chalkboard.

Chicago's food critics also share their picks on the best appetizer, entree, dessert, drink, and freebie.

Elsewhere in the November issue of Chicago:
-- How the CIA Enlisted the Chicago Mob to Put a Hit on Castro: The CIA
and Chicago's Outfit covertly joined together to take out Cuba's Fidel
Castro in the strangest plot in U.S. intelligence history.
-- Aliens: Exotic plants and animals have found their way to Chicago and
are wreaking havoc on our local ecosystem. Field Museum experts provide
dossiers on some of these most invasive species.

Dining editor Penny Pollack and other members of the magazine staff are available for on-air interviews. Contact Christine Wong at 312-222-4481 to schedule an interview.
