DDB Guoan Beijing Appoints New Executive Creative Director

July 9, 2007 | 2:47 pm

BEIJING, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- DDB Guoan Beijing has appointed David Lin to be its new Executive Creative Director. His appointment follows the significant wins DDB Guoan Beijing has had in recent months including Citizen Watches, Henderson Land and Quimei Furniture Malls.

Lin has steadily worked at refining and honing his creative game as evidenced by a list of awards ranging from a silver Effie to a gold from the Hong Kong Designers Association and several bronze awards at the China Advertising Awards. In this role, Lin will work closely with Donald Ma, Managing Director of the Beijing office, and report to Michael Dee, Chief Creative officer of the DDB China Group.

Bob Scarpelli, Chairman, Chief Creative Officer, DDB Worldwide, said: "We are really pleased with David's appointment. His role, combined with his extensive experience, is an essential ingredient in continuing to build and grow DDB Guoan's creative reputation in Beijing."

Dick van Motman, President and CEO of DDB China Group, said, "Michael, Donald and I have spent considerable time on filling this important position and feel that with David, we've found the best candidate."

Mr. Van Motman added, "David has extensive through-the-line skills and a real appreciation for the role that creativity plays in driving a client's business. His experience and knowledge will help us make our Beijing office function as an operation where creative solutions are the key focus and not just a singular discipline."

Lin started his career as a designer at Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited after which he joined the agency world and started his own agency. Most recently, Lin was at McCann Erickson in different divisions ranging from McCann Erickson advertising to McCann Relationship Marketing to Momentum, and in various Greater China locations including Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. He has gained a broad range of experience, having worked on clients such as Microsoft, MasterCard, UPS, L'Oreal, Shanghai General Motor, Goodyear, Nestle, Intel, Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens PFT, and Cathay Pacific.

"We are extremely pleased to have David here to add a truly multifaceted perspective to our business. He will be an important key to furthering our momentum and to 'unleashing the potential' at DDB Guoan Beijing," Donald Ma, MD of DDB Guoan Beijing office, said.
