2016 Top Places to Work in PR: Archer Malmo

Archer Malmo’s culture is often described as fun, creative and collaborative, yet professional and authentic.

For example, pets are welcome at the agency, and it’s not uncommon to be in a conference with a canine. In 2015, The Bark, a dog culture magazine, named Archer Malmo one of the top three Best Places to Work. Archer Malmo also offers pet insurance to all employees and pays for 10 percent of the premium cost.

Libations often roll through the building—literally—on the agency’s dedicated “beer cart.” It’s not uncommon to have the beer cart bring you a cold brew on a Friday afternoon or a mimosa on a Monday morning.

Also, during an employee’s birthday month, they can select a free gift from the agency boutique, Front & Union; gifts include wine tumblers, t-shirts and tech accessories.

Archer Malmo’s office features a collaborative work model that includes open workspaces, breakout areas throughout the agency, an indoor bike garage replete with a branded communal bike for quick trips and a ping pong table.

In addition to company outings like baseball games, happy hours and community events like the Memphis Opera Festival, the agency throws an annual Thanksgiving potluck and themed holiday party.

Not surprisingly, turnover at the agency is low: in fact, more than 20 percent of staff have been there for ten years or longer, a far cry from industry norms and a testament to its wonderful culture.
