Shortly after joining Point72, Schaefer launched the ideation and development of a communications strategy to overcome the hedge fund industry’s number one issue: recruiting top talent and increasing diversity.
Schaefer worked to launch a diversity initiative at the firm and partnered with 100 Women in Hedge Funds to host Point72’s first external event targeting women, “Closing the Confidence Gap." More than 250 senior investment professionals attended the event, which focused on self-concept, self-esteem and self-efficacy. The event was a huge success. Over 95 percent of attendees found the event engaging and 90 percent were interested in attending a follow-up event.
