As lead on United Way of New York City’s social media efforts, Garvey was tasked with developing and executing a #GivingTuesday strategy that elevated the brand, engaged a new audience and activated United Way’s Board. Her work resulted in a partnership with the New York Cosmos—opening United Way up to a new market and increasing Board engagement. Thanks to Garvey, United Way of New York City exceeded its #GivingTuesday revenue goal by 110 percent, quadrupled day-of impressions on Twitter and increased website engagement by 100 percent.
