Platinum PR Awards Finalists Announced by PR News

PR and marketing professionals are asked to be experts at so many things nowadays—writing, still photography, video, live streaming, annual reports, crisis management, data visualization, pitching the media, live stunts, measurement, data analysis, social listening, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, SEO, cause-related marketing, community relations. Need we go on?

Communications professionals must constantly be learning while they're working overtime to make their messages heard, help their brand's bottom line and beat the competition. Their inspiring leaps in skill, creativity and versatility can find no better showcase than at PR News' annual Platinum PR Awards, which celebrate the best communications programs and teams of the past year. We'll announce the winners and honor all of the finalists for the 2016 Platinum PR Awards at our luncheon on Oct. 19 at the Marriott Marquis in New York.

We'll also be inducting four campaigns into PR News' Platinum Hall of Fame, which honors communications campaigns or initiatives that were launched three or more years ago and that will likely be referred to in years to come as having had a larger impact than even their creators might have imagined.

The 2016 Platinum PR Awards luncheon will be co-hosted by comedian Aparna Nancherla, profiled in the New York Times recently on the eve of her tour supporting her new album on Tig Notary’s Bentzen Ball Records label and in anticipation of her upcoming Comedy Central special. Nancherla has also appeared on "Inside Amy Schumer,” “Love," "Last Comic Standing” and “I Love the 2000’s.” Sharing co-hosting duties will be "Orange Is the New Black" cast member Catherine Curtin; she also has a role in the HBO's much-buzzed-about upcoming series "Insecure."

The luncheon will be sponsored by Business Wire and Aflac.
