Howard Sholkin has more than 40 years of journalism and marketing communications experience. He joined International Data Group (IDG)—one of the world’s leading technology media, event, and research companies—as director of corporate communications in 2003 providing PR support for founder and chairman Pat McGovern and subsidiaries. Howard is now responsible for communications and marketing programs for the CEO of IDG Communications and for IDG Global Solutions and IDG Communications, the media and events subsidiary in the U.S.

Prior to IDG, Howard held senior marketing and communications positions at high-tech companies that included Computervision, Technology Concepts (a subsidiary of Bell Atlantic), Digital/Compaq and Getronics (Wang).

Before entering the high-tech industry in 1981, he was a news producer at WCVB-TV in Boston.

Since 1990, Howard has been active in the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Boston, where he became president in 2001. Currently, he serves as chair of the national PRSA Investment Committee.

Howard joined the board of The Communication Leadership Exchange in 2012. He is a columnist for PR News and was also a columnist for Personal Branding magazine.
