($329/location - CDs available for purchase. This webinar originally aired March 2010.)

Each registration comes with access to the archived version of the program, the materials provided by the speakers and a personalized certificate of completion for attending the Webinar.

About the Webinar:

By now, you’ve more than heard of Twitter and are most likely charged with tweeting for your organization. Similar to Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn, Twitter is now a necessary tool in your social media communications arsenal. Practically overnight, you have become your organization’s Twitter expert: now what?

How do you really use this microblogging tool to boost your company’s reputation, to drive sales, to get the media’s attention, avert a crisis and communicate with your many stakeholders? It takes more than 140 characters to show you how: so, invest less than 2 hours of your time in this Twitter Webinar and you WILL be a Twitter expert and a better social media communicator.

PR News has lined up a distinguished panel of PR professionals and media experts to show you how to use Twitter, the do’s and the don’ts of tweeting and most importantly, how to tie Twitter to your business goals. They will present very tactical case studies showing what their specific communications goals were, and how they used Twitter to move the needle. This first generation of Twitter all-stars from the consumer brand, b2b, publishing and PR agency sectors will share the tactics used to engage consumers with their brands, boost their company's reputation, drive sales, increase their audience, communicate with stakeholders during a crisis and more.

At this Webinar, you will get an overview of the latest Twitter trends, best and worst practices, and from our team of all-stars you will learn how to:

  • Attract more followers and increase audience engagement
  • Set up a Twitter account – from branding your Twitter page to creating a profile
  • Create hash tags to create timely buzz for your initiatives
  • Engage with existing and new audiences
  • Use Twitter as a listening tool and learn how and when to respond to tweets
  • Sell your products and services on this platform – without really “selling”
  • Build relationships with the media
  • Manage and protect your reputation using Twitter
  • Use Twitter as a research tool for developing new products and services
  • Increase traffic to your Web site and other social media pages using Twitter
  • Use Twitter to market your events – plus, how to create twitter-centric events
  • Improve your customer service efforts
  • Microblog with impact – how to say it in 140 characters
  • The latest and tested Twitter tools and resources
  • Allocate the right amount of time and resources to Twitter
  • Establish new business partnerships and strengthen bonds with current partners
  • Market new products without overselling to your audiences
  • Influence word-of-mouth perspectives on your brand
  • Integrate Twitter with your Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media initiatives
  • Prove the value of Twitter efforts to the C-suite
  • Tie Twitter to the bottom line
  • Use the latest Twitter tools and free resources to manage your efforts

Twitter has become an indispensable tool in the communicator's arsenal in a very short time, and perhaps the most amazing aspect of the microblog is that it can be used in so many different ways toward so many different ends-despite the 140-character-per-post limitation. Or is it because of that limitation?

This Webinar will not only show you how to use Twitter more effectively for your immediate needs and goals, it will get you to think about Twitter beyond the obvious-to see how it is used by professionals from different walks of business life. You will also learn how to smartly and effectively integrate Twitter with other social media platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn and other networks.

After each case study, you'll have the opportunity to get your questions answered, and by the end of this Webinar you will become a Twitter expert within your organization. If you are using Twitter now or thinking about integrating it into your PR plans, this is a Webinar that cannot be missed.

How does the Webinar work?

The live audio is delivered to your location over the telephone or your computer speakers. The Power-Point presentations are presented over the Internet and are available to print out before the program. This is like a talk-radio program with visuals on the Web. You and your team will be able to have a live Q&A with all the speakers.
You need Real Player 10, Adobe Flash Player 9 or Windows Media Player 9 installed on your computer. If you do not have either, please follow the instructions below to download and install them. Or if you prefer, a phone for the audio and an Internet connection to let you watch the slides and other information on the Web will suffice. No other downloads or special hardware - a dial-up connection will work fine.

  • One (1) set of materials (you may make copies for all of the persons you invited to listen to the program);
  • One (1) toll-free connection to the seminar (if you select the audio connection.), and
  • One (1) Internet connection to the seminar.

What equipment do I need?

For the audio connection:

  • A computer with Real Player 10, Adobe Flash Player 9 or Windows Media Player 9 installed. When you log into the webinar, your computer will be taken through a brief configuration check and will let you know if you're missing any software.
  • If you do not have Real Player, Adobe Flash Player or Windows, a touch-tone telephone will work also. It works best to use a speakerphone so that others can listen too.

For the Internet connection:

  • PC: 166Mhz Pentium-based PC or better
  • Operating system: Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Mac OS X, Linux (Windows 98/NT/ME will most likely work but are not officially supported)
  • Browser: For optimal viewing experience, we recommend using Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. Mac OS X must be used in combination w/ a supported Firefox browser and Adobe Flash Player. Most versions of Linux OS will work in combination w/ a supported Firefox browser and Adobe Flash Player.
  • Internet connection: 56k Dial-up Modem (minimum requirement). Some presentations will require a higher bandwidth connection such as Cable Modem or DSL.
  • Display set at 1024 x 768
  • Mac users are encouraged to use Firefox 2.0 (or later) with and Adobe Flash Player or Real Player to view the webcast. You can also test your system using the system test button in menu on the left hand side.
