Rekha Chalasani

Rekha Chalasani is a Manager for Worldwide Philanthropy at Pfizer Inc where she leads the Pfizer Global Health Fellows Program, one of the company's flagship initiatives.
Ms. Chalasani has extensive experience in communications and program management in all three sectors. She began her career as a founding employee at Boston-based stem cell banking company, ViaCord Inc. and went on to a career in Democratic presidential politics serving the Clinton Administration as a Senior Communications Officer and spokesperson for Africa regional programs and Humanitarian Relief & Disaster Assistance at the U.S. Agency for International Development. She also served as the Director of Budget and a Deputy Director for Communications at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
She has been a consultant to numerous nonprofit programs including the Clinton Democracy Fellowship Program for young social entrepreneurs at City Year, Inc. and the international relief organization Church World Service, Inc. Just prior to joining Pfizer in 2006, Ms. Chalasani was a consultant to Johnson & Johnson, Inc. supporting their HIV/AIDS philanthropic portfolio.
She has an MPA from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and is a graduate of Boston University.
