Bio
Liz Gorman is a senior member of Cone’s Corporate Responsibility team, working from Seattle, Washington. She complements Cone’s team with her strong blend of strategic communications and program management experience in the areas of corporate responsibility (CR), community and environmental affairs, public affairs, public relations and cause branding. Ms. Gorman joined Cone after serving six years as Principal to Gorman Communications. As a senior strategist, Gorman worked closely with her clients to develop strategic communications that effectively provided greater visibility for key initiatives through external CR reporting, stakeholder engagement and collateral development. Ms. Gorman led teams as well as consulted on significant CR–related projects and initiatives for major corporate clients, including Starbucks, REI, Inc., Eli Lilly and Company, Mattel, Inc., Chevron, Sun Microsystems and White Memorial Medical Center. In addition to Starbucks, she currently leads Cone’s account teams for Campbell Soup Company and CVS Caremark. For the past seven years, Ms. Gorman has worked extensively with Starbucks Coffee Company to develop thematic directions and content for its industry leading CSR annual reports, and also provided additional communications counsel to the company’s top leadership. Prior to launching her own firm, Ms. Gorman spent more than five years at Eddie Bauer, Inc., first as a public relations advisor in which she promoted the Eddie Bauer brand through media placements and company–wide sponsorships. Later she spearheaded the company’s community affairs and corporate philanthropy efforts, which also included directing the company’s Global ReLeaf cause branding initiative and building strategic alliances with national and local community–based organizations. She ended her tenure as an Executive Manager to the President/CEO, focusing on both community–oriented and company–wide initiatives. Ms. Gorman has played an active role in her community, having recently served on the Board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle and as the President of the Jewish Transcript “JT News.” She earned a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Minnesota and received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington in Political Science and Psychology.
