Elissa A. Nesbitt
Manager, Corporate Public Relations, Xerox Corporation
Elissa A. Nesbitt is manager, corporate public relations for Citizenship at Xerox Corporation. She was appointed to this position February 2007.
Nesbitt is responsible for strategy development and strategic implementation of all public relations initiatives for Citizenship, which at Xerox includes the environment, ethics, community involvement, workplace and diversity programs. Since taking on the position, Xerox strengthened its commitment to the environment and sustainability worldwide putting in place aggressive goals and objectives in four key areas: climate change and energy, sustainable forestry, clean air and water and zero waste. Nesbitt worked as part of the team that created the worldwide, corporate sustainability strategy, representing global communications.
Nesbitt also oversees the Rochester-based community relations programs, leading a team that manages the FIRST Robotics program, The Xerox Science Consultant Program, and the Xerox Community Involvement Program. She works directly with the Xerox Foundation to fund community initiatives in the Rochester area.
Nesbitt relocated to Rochester after a decade long career in public relations in New York. She joined Xerox from Edelman Public Relations where she was a Vice President of strategic communications, counseling clients through mergers, acquisitions, private equity buy outs and bankruptcies. She is also an accomplished communications and PR professional in the retail and consumer goods sector having worked with top consumer brands and Fortune 500 companies throughout her career.
Nesbitt received a bachelor of arts degree in communications in 1992 from the State University of New York at Oswego and earned a certificate degree in financial accounting from the New York Institute of Finance. She is the co-chair for the United Way Campaign of Eastern Orleans County and serves on the Board of The Rochester Business Alliance’s Women’s Council. She resides in Albion, N.Y. with her husband, Chuck.
