Christine Nyirjesy Bragale, ABC
After a successful career in television news, Christine Nyirjesy Bragale, ABC, joined Goodwill Industries International, the sixth largest nonprofit organization in North America, as international spokesperson and Director of Media Relations. A communication strategist accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators, Bragale has won numerous industry awards since 1998 for communication campaigns and video productions, including the Telly, IABC Silver Inkwell, and PR Week Nonprofit Team of the Year, recognizing superior production skills and the effective alignment of corporate messages, communication tools, and organizational objectives.
Bragale came to Goodwill from the Associated Press, where she helped launch the agency’s new television service, Associated Press Television News (APTN), in 1994. There she served four years as an assignment manager and producer, directing APTN’s newsgathering operations in North and South America. Three words describe her career at the AP: intense deadline pressure. Previously, Bragale worked as a Washington producer for several European networks, ABC Radio News and The McLaughlin Group. With a primary focus on politics and diplomacy, she has covered three presidential elections and inaugurations and 11 international summits.
Fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, Bragale holds a B.A. in history and a Certificate in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University. She lives in Bethesda, Maryland, with her husband Charlie and their children, Christopher and Elisabeth.
