Ken Capps
Vice President, Public Affairs
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
Ken Capps, APR currently serves as Vice President of Public Affairs at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, the world's third busiest Airport. He brings more than 25 years experience in journalism, public relations and communications/crisis management to the position. Capps has media trained executives at Fortune 500 companies and served as a keynote speaker at multiple industry conferences on best practices in public relations.
Capps started his career at DFW on September 11, 2001, and has directed DFW’s communication strategy through national security issues, possible airline bankruptcies, multi-billion dollar bond sales and the successful openings of the new International Terminal D, Skylink train and Grand Hyatt.
Capps came to the Airport from Computer Sciences Corporation where he led industry public relations initiatives and managed and directed media campaigns for financial services, health care and supply chain practices for the company's billion-dollar Consulting division.
Capps has also held leadership positions in public relations at EDS, and was Director of Marketing for the State of Texas at the Texas Department of Commerce. Prior to his public relations career, Capps was an award-winning television reporter, spending the final eight years of his broadcast career at KDFW/Dallas, where he was Austin Bureau Chief. Ironically, in his first week on the job at KDFW, he covered the Delta 191 crash at DFW.
