David Phillips

David Phillips FCIPR is a practitioner with a foot in two camps. He has a long record in public relations practice going back to the ‘60’s including practice in politics, corporate affairs and consultancy and is also known for his knowledge of new PR as an active practitioner, author, and speaker. He is visiting Professor of online public relations at Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, Portugal. In the mid 70’s he founded one of the earliest media measurement and evaluation companies (Media Measurement Ltd), wrote one of the first books (Evaluating Press Coverage - Kogan Page) and is extensively published on the subject in academic journals.
He was a founder of XPRL, the PR XML schema for the industry (www.xprl.org).
More recently as a director of eFootprint™ he is Head of Digital research and is responsible for providing clients with 360 degree audits of online presence.
He is the world leading expert in the application of latent sematic inference for online PR applications.
His most recent book is “Online Public Relations” 2nd Edition Kogan Page 2008.
