Amy Stevens
System Director of Marketing Communications
Wellmont Health System

Amy Stevens is marketing communications director for Wellmont Health System, an eight-hospital, not-for-profit healthcare system serving Tennessee and Virginia. Ms. Stevens has more than 17 years’ professional communications experience, including 10 years with the Wellmont system.

She previously worked as a newspaper reporter and has been a freelance writer for Modern Healthcare magazine. Ms. Stevens has presented at numerous state and national conferences, including the 2008 Vocus Users Conference in Washington, D.C., and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development’s 2008 annual conference in San Francisco.

Ms. Stevens is a graduate of East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tenn., and Tusculum College, Greeneville, Tenn., where she received a master’s degree in organizational management. She will complete a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare administration at King College, Bristol, Tenn., in August.

She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including Tennessee Press Association awards for news writing and feature writing, William Randolph Hearst Foundation awards for spot-news writing and in-depth writing and multiple ADDY, PRSA and TSHMPR awards for marketing communications. She has also been nominated for a MidSouth EMMY award for her work with The Wellmont Connection television show.
