Tara Greco
VP of Corporate Responsibility
APCO Worldwide
Tara Greco, vice president in APCO Worldwide’s corporate social responsibility practice, develops highly recognized philanthropic strategies for corporations and manages initiatives that build alliances with key constituencies. She has 17 years of experience designing and implementing focused community relations programs and in strategic communication.
Prior to joining APCO in June 2006, Ms. Greco served as Director of Public Relations for Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) for nearly three years, where she managed the externally focused strategies and activities for the national organization, which included oversight of media relations, branding, special events, and publicity.
Before joining RIF, Ms. Greco spent five years in corporate marketing for another national youth-focused nonprofit organization, America’s Promise. During her tenure, she managed the creative development and placement for a $22M national call-to-action public service advertising campaign, counseled local affiliates on grassroots marketing and communications activities, and was responsible for array of national and sector publications and communications vehicles.
Ms. Greco honed her marketing and communications skills while running the community relations department for the Washington Wizards (NBA) and Washington Capitals (NHL) from 1993 to 1998.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena, a nonprofit skating rink that provides free lessons to city children, and previously served on the board of United For DC, the D.C. United soccer team’s foundation. Ms. Greco has also consulted several athlete foundations and volunteered for a variety of literacy-focused organizations.
Ms. Greco graduated from The College of William & Mary with a B.B.A. in Finance, and continues to support the school as a member of the Tribe Club.
