One of the real weak spots in PR is the lukewarm interest in the field among college students (not so good for building the future). But the Arthur W. Page Society,
which represents corporate communications execs, is doing its part to change that.
Last week, the group announced that it has expanded its Pathway to Diversity scholarship program, adding a corporate matching pledge of up to $40,000 and an internship
initiative designed to attract more students to PR. The program, founded in 2003, funds scholarships for high potential minority students who choose PR or corporate communications
as a career.
With the new wrinkle, Page will match dollar for dollar contributions from its members, up to a total of $40,000; Siemens Corp. has already pledged
