The ripples from the Ketchum scandal continue to unfold,
what with the full contours of the story still unknown.
Nevertheless, the PR fiasco remains Topic A throughout the
profession. PR News Editor Matthew Schwartz will co-host
"Stars of PR with Cindy R" tomorrow (March 10) at 10:00 ET
(http://www.voiceamerica.com)
to discuss the potential ramifications of the scandal and what
impact it is having on the business. ('Cindy R' is Cindy Rakowitz,
former chief of corporate communications at Playboy
Enterprises who now runs her own L.A.-based PR agency.) Guests
include Paul Argenti, professor of management and corporate
communications at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth
(and an Arthur W. Page Society board member), and Melanie
Sloan, executive director of the watchdog group Citizens for
Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which recently filed
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with 22 federal agencies
seeking information on their PR contracts (see PR News, Jan.
26).
